Akron Brass Sponsors 2015 FAMA Scholarship Award

Presented to recipient Tyler Lambert

Wooster, Ohio – On August 27, 2015, The Akron Brass Company was pleased to present the 2015 winner of the FAMA Phillip L. Turner Fire Protection Scholarship to Oklahoma State University student Tyler Lambert.

The award is given annually by Fire Apparatus Manufacturers’ Association (FAMA) and has been sponsored by FAMA member, Akron Brass for the past seven years. The award was presented to Tyler at a FAMA technical committee meeting which was held in conjunction with Fire-Rescue International Conference in Atlanta, GA.  

Tyler is in his final year at Oklahoma State University and is enrolled in the Fire Protection Engineering MS program. He currently serves as a volunteer firefighter for Ingalls (OK) Fire Department while maintaining a 3.25 GPA. He received the $5,000 scholarship in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements and commitment to the fire service.
