MatrixControl Pump Control System
The apparatus shall be equipped with an Akron Brass MatrixControl pump control system (PCS) capable of monitoring, reporting, recording, configuring and controlling pump operation.
Pump Control System. All features of the MatrixControl PCS shall be fully compliant with industry standard J1939 specification and NFPA 1901.
Monitoring: The system shall be capable of monitoring parameters that include water tank level, pump intake pressure, pump discharge pressure and pump governor control commands.
Recording: The system shall record diagnostic codes relative to the monitored parameters. The diagnostic codes shall be capable of being retrieved in real time, or as historical codes by any J1939 compliant diagnostic tool. Historical codes shall be available and time-stamped for the last pertinent (xx?) pump cycles.
The system shall record statistical pump data including total pump engagement cycles, and total pump operation time.
Reporting: The reporting system shall be capable of communicating data to other systems on the fire apparatus over an industry standard control and diagnostic bus. The system shall report all of the monitored parameters described above. Additionally, the system shall report diagnostic data pertaining to the monitored parameters to other apparatus components over the J1939 data bus through diagnostic codes compliant with the J1939 data bus that interconnects the driveline components to the PCS.
The MatrixGovernor system shall be capable to support the VMUX apparatus electrical multiplex system to show the available monitored parameters and configuration parameters through the VMUX Vista display.
The system shall be capable to report data to off-vehicle monitoring systems through a connection to the vehicle diagnostic (J1939) connector.
The system shall provide an application that can monitor and report test data to an internet location while the fire apparatus is in operation.
Configuration. The control system shall be configurable to operate any engine that supports control over the J1939 data bus or through an analog control (throttle positon) signal to the engine ECU.
The system shall be capable to be configured through a primary or secondary control station through menus presented to an OEM or user.
The system shall be capable to be configured through templates updateable through a standard USB drive “thumb-drive” connected to other MatrixPump system compononets or through a computer connected through the J1939 diagnostic port.
The system compononets firmware shall be capable to be updated in the field through either USB or direct applications connected to the J1939 CAN data link.
[link2 Specific] The system shall be capable to report recorded data to off-vehicle monitoring systems through an internet connection. The system shall be capable to upload the monitored pump data to a server location that makes the data accessible through an online dashboard accessible globally.
Control: The pump operations system shall be operable to allow a user to adjust engine speed or pump pressure during active fireground operations (NFPA pumping parameters). The system shall allow a user to command to any predetermined pump pressure during pump operation. The pump control system shall maintain the pump engine speed to maintain a user commanded pressure within the application limits define by NFPA 1901.
The pump operations system shall be operable to allow multiple stations to control the NFPA pumping parameters.
